In our recent conversations with bulk wine buyers, there is interest in Merlot, Malbec, etc at low prices as individual varietals, but there is much more interest in red blends or Bordeaux style blends. These Bordelais varieties over deliver in terms of quality/price ratio. These bulk wines make for excellent stand alone wines or as enhancements to your existing cuvées.
Perhaps the hottest commodity in the Pacific Northwest bulk wine market, is the Washington State red blend. Washington grows some of the best Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. These wines deliver rich, dark fruit, velvety texture, and over deliver on the American wine consumer's expectations.
